GOAL
A common .. but hopefully not regular ... message that can be seen in the alert log is:
" kccrsz: denied expansion of controlfile section ## by ## record(s) the number of records is already at maximum value (65535)"
Examples:
kccrsz: denied expansion of controlfile section 9 by 65535 record(s) the number of records is already at maximum value (65535)
kccrsz: denied expansion of controlfile section 11 by 65535 record(s) the number of records is already at maximum value (65535)
kccrsz: denied expansion of controlfile section 19 by 65535 record(s) the number of records is already at maximum value (65535)
This message is not very descriptive and as such ... it is hard to understand what has happened
This note will attempt to clear up this confusion
SOLUTION
The section numbers in listed in the warning message :
kccrsz: denied expansion of controlfile section ## by ## record(s) the number of records is already at maximum value (65535)
Are stored as part of a decode statement of a fixed view that cannot be viewed
As such .. here are the sections as of 11.1.0.2 we have 37 sections, later it extended and now we have 42 sections available till 19c.
