There are two documents attached to the page. One is a Powerpoint 95 document of 265KB, the other is a Word 6/95 document of 26KB.

The content is based on a presentation I gave to the European User Group annual conference in Madrid June 2000, and describes how to interpret the plans from Parallel Query execution, Partitioned Table plans, and some of the nasty little traps that confuse the issue when you start using the new features of Oracle 8.1.

The SQL that I use to dump the execution paths is the Oracle 8 version that is stored on this site. There is also an introductory pair of files for Explain plan
