The content is an article published in Relate (the magazine of the UK Oracle User Group) in Spring 1997. The article is a brief introduction to using the Parallel Query Option (PQO) under Oracle 7.3.2. The code has moved on since then, in particular the extra options available to PQO when running against Partitioned Tables in Oracle 8 are interesting.
A follow-up article recording some real-life experiences was published in the Summer issue.
