Abstract: In automobile interior, seat decoration has become one of the main
factors for consumers to choose the car. However, the development of design
technology of seat cover still maintains the tradition of manual operation process till
now. It is dependent on the prototype in the design of the seat trim. It is disconnected
between upstream and downstream data. Along with the national advocacy of the
Integration-of-Information-Technology-and-Industrialization; "Made in China 2025"
innovation-driven strategy: intelligent manufacturing, improving product design
ability, perfecting manufacturing technology, innovation system and other goals, seat
cover design enterprises are also looking for a digital road. Mastertrim provides a
complete digital model for designing, validating, and optimizing products and
processes in a virtual environment. Mastertrim eliminates our dependence on the
prototype, reduces the first production time and greatly improves the design
efficiency. In this paper, the seat cushion is taken as an example to quickly create the
flat pattern data with Mastertrim, including the following contents:
1, Define the stitch position and create the cover pieces
2. validate the quality of cover fit and assess manufacturing issues
3. Definition of manufacturing information: Notch, Tie down
4. Generating the flat pattern
5. Generate engineering drawings, BOM table, cost model
