Adapters are software components that provide connectivity to Enterprise Information System (EIS), through
a configuration only and no coding approach. WebSphere Adapters complies with the Java Platform, Enterprise Edition (JEE)
Connector Architecture (JCA) version 1.5. JCA standardizes the way application components, application servers, and enterprise
information systems (EIS), interact with each other.
1 Step 1: Access your software
If you download your product from Passport Advantage

2 Step 2: Evaluate your hardware and system configuration

3 Step 3: Review the base architecture
An overview of the base architecture is described here:
v WebSphere Adapters on WebSphere Application Server is installed.
v J2C Java Bean is generated with J2C Connector tools in Rational
™
Application Developer.
v The application containing the J2C Java Bean is deployed to the server.
v The J2C Java Bean interacts with the Enterprise Information System through the adapter.
