环球唱片联合JVC，于2009年，为纪念“Carpenters”四十周年，在日本推出了限定复刻版《Carpenters 40周年典藏合集》。
合集包含了 Carpenters 以往正式发布的所有15个录音室专辑，外加1张金曲DVD。复刻的CD采用了SHM-CD（Super High Material CD）技术，号称是当前能够做到最接近原发专辑首版的CD制成技术。
Carpenters（卡朋特乐队）——现在的孩子们叫法是“木匠兄妹”
传奇的“Carpenters”，是美国歌星 理查德·卡朋特（Richard Carpenter）和 卡伦·卡朋特（Karen Carpenter）兄妹二人组成的演唱组合，自1970年代至1980年代初期风靡世界，至今他们的歌曲还在被众多艺人不断翻唱。
哥哥 Richard 出生于1946年10月15日，妹妹 Karen 则是出生于1950年3月2日，兄妹俩从小就表现出优异的音乐天分。1965年，卡朋特兄妹与负责贝斯和低音大喇叭的 Wes Jacobs 组建了自己的乐队，开启了他们灿烂的音乐生涯。1969年11月15日，卡朋特乐队的单曲《Close to You》（靠近你）一举走红，其后，他们在整个1970年代大获成功。《Yesterday Once More》（昨日重现）、《Top of the World》（世界之颠）、《Please Mr. Postman》（请等一下，邮差先生）等歌曲广为人知。1983年2月4日，卡伦·卡朋特因长期严重神经性厌食症而突然去世，卡朋特乐队随之告终。（减肥也要有底线哈）
SHM-CD（Super High Material CD）
是由环球音乐和JVC开发的一种CD制成技术。其原理是，通过使用一种特殊的高透光率聚碳酸酯塑料制作盘基，以提高激光唱头读盘的数据准确度，从而保障音频还原的质量。
说白了就是，更透明的盘基，就可以得到更准确的数据读取。
这就令人困惑了，难道以往的CD连基本的数据正确读取都保障不了吗？
在数码技术的背景下，严重怀疑，如果音质真有“改善”，恐怕是复刻再版时的“修复”工作功劳更大吧。日本人从来就不那么可信。
但是，不管音质是否真的“更好”，至少骡友们有了一个一次就能收集全部 Carpenters 专辑的机会。
